But as it turned out, Klara didn't get pregnant.  We were so disappointed!  Dr. Marty Greer, the canine reproduction specialist, said about 25% of the time the female won't get pregnant for a variety of reasons.  We know for sure Sammy is healthy and viable.  We're blaming the stress of the plane ride home as the cause of Klara not having pups.
